AI FASHION
The best AI stylist apps in 2026, compared honestly
An «AI stylist» can be a colour and body-type analysis, a daily outfit from your closet, a chat that answers «what do I wear?» or a human stylist helped by algorithms.

Real looks from the Chulair community
Here we compare nine of the most recommended — ours included — on what they analyse about you, what they give you, whether they check the weather, whether you see the result on you and what they cost, using only what each publishes, with the date.
How it works
- 1Upload photos of your clothes: the AI catalogues them by type and colour
- 2Every morning, an outfit from your garments, for the weather, with the reason for each
- 3See it on your photo and find what you're missing in your country

How we compared them — and what «AI stylist» means here
We build Chulair, so this is not a neutral review and we won't pretend it is. Every fact about another app below comes from its own website or its App Store / Google Play listing, checked on 18 September 2026; when an app doesn't publish something we say «not published». The sources are listed at the end.
«AI stylist» is used for at least four different things: an analysis of your colours and body type, a daily outfit from your wardrobe, a chat you can ask «what do I wear?», and a human stylist helped by algorithms. So we compared each app on:
- What it analyses about you: colour, body, style, your wardrobe, your photos.
- What it gives you: a daily outfit, suggestions on request, a chat, shopping, a person.
- Whether it considers the weather and the occasion.
- Whether you can see the result on yourself.
- What it costs, and where it works.
A note that applies to all of them: none of these apps tells you your size or how a garment will fit to the centimetre. For that, the store's size guide still wins.
Alta — Alta Daily
What it analyses: your closet (photos, forwarded receipts or its database) and the details you give it to build your avatar — a headshot, height, measurements, skin tone and hair colour. Body-type and colour analysis: not published. What it gives you: daily outfits from your clothes, outfits for any event or around a garment you ask about, packing lists for trips, and shopping recommendations to fill gaps in your closet. Weather and occasion: yes, both. On you: yes, on an avatar that looks like you. Human stylist: no; it offers a separate closet-cataloguing service with KonMari. Price: «free to use», with no in-app purchases on the App Store. iOS, Android and web; English only.
Style DNA
What it analyses: from a selfie, «in 35 seconds», your seasonal colour type (one of 12), your body type and your style type; plus your wardrobe. What it gives you: «5 ready-to-wear outfit ideas every day» from clothes you own, an AI stylist chatbot, products from 26,000 brands across 231 retailers filtered to your profile, and an in-store «item match check» from a photo. Weather: not published. Occasion: yes (work, weddings, date nights, gym, travel). On you: not published. Human stylist: no. Price: a subscription for full access — App Store plans from $7.99/month or $19.99/year, plus one-off colour and body-type guides; what stays free is not published. iOS and Android; English, German and Italian.
Acloset — AI Fashion Assistant
What it analyses: your closet, your personal colour and your fit (the silhouettes that suit you), and your photo for the try-on. What it gives you: an AI stylist chat you can ask «what should I wear today?», daily outfits from your clothes, a calendar, cost-per-wear and trip packing. Weather and occasion: yes — suggestions tailored to the weather and your schedule. On you: yes, on an AI avatar created from your photo. Human stylist: no. Price: all features free up to 100 items; then Basic $3.99/month, Premium $9.99 or Expert $24.99, plus «beans» credit packs. iOS, Android and a Chrome extension; 18 languages.
Whering
What it analyses: your closet — its «Colour Palette» shows the colours you wear most and the gaps, which is about your wardrobe, not your personal colouring. Body-type analysis or a style quiz: not published. What it gives you: «W Pick», 6 outfit suggestions a day from your closet, a «Dress Me» shuffle, a paid «Outfit Maker», a planner and packing lists, and a social side where friends style your closet. Weather and occasion: yes, the planner suggests outfits from your wardrobe and the weather, for trips and events too. On you: not published. Human stylist or AI chat: not published. Price: the core app is free; paid extras include credits and the Outfit Maker ($4.99). iOS, Android, a web version and a Chrome extension.
Cladwell — Outfit Planner
What it analyses: your closet and what you actually wear. Body-type and colour analysis: not published. What it gives you: daily outfits from your clothes, capsule wardrobes from 35+ templates, and «Ask Cladwell», a ChatGPT-powered chat for style advice. Weather and occasion: yes — daily outfits for your local weather, and planning for special occasions. On you: not published. Human stylist: no. Price: managing the closet is free and recommendations cost «less than $5 a month» according to its site, while the App Store lists plans from $2.99 to $59.99. iOS and Android.
Indyx
What it analyses: your closet and a style quiz (your «three style words»). What it gives you: mostly people — it says style «can never be replaced by an algorithm». Human stylists work from your catalogued clothes: «The Feed» (weekly outfits and shopping ideas, from $25 a month), a «Lookbook» of 10 outfits from $150, a «Lookbook Mini» of 3 from $60, and live calls. AI outfit generation or chat: not published. Weather: not published. On you: «virtual selfies» from one reference photo, in the paid Insider tier. Price: the app is free with unlimited items; Insider $12.99/month or $74.99/year; booking a stylist needs at least 25 catalogued items. iOS and Android; English only.
Dressly — AI Outfit Maker
What it analyses: from a selfie, your colour type, body shape and outfit preferences; your closet photos too. What it gives you: a score for your outfits on style, fit and colour harmony, lookbooks and daily outfit ideas, and shopping recommendations from brands. Weather: not published. Occasion: yes — work, parties, casual outings and events. On you: its website advertises a «virtual try on» of personalised outfits; whether it uses your own photo is not published. Human stylist: no. Price: a premium subscription unlocks everything — App Store prices from $7.99 a week, $24.99 a month or $55.99 a year; the free tier is not published. iOS and Android.
Stitch Fix
What it is: a human stylist plus algorithms that sends clothes to your home — in the United States only. What it analyses: a style quiz on taste, fit and budget, your feedback on each item, and a selfie and full-length photo for its «Vision» feature. What it gives you: a box («Fix») of 5 items picked by a stylist, a personalised shop, and an AI style assistant in beta on iOS. Styling from the clothes you already own: not published. Weather and occasion: not published. On you: yes — «See it on me» generates images of you in recommended outfits. Price: a $20 styling fee per box, credited toward anything you keep; items from about $28; shipping and returns free; no subscription required.
Chulair (that's us)
What it analyses: your own clothes — you upload photos of yourself wearing them and the AI recognises, separates and catalogues each garment by type and colour —, the season in your country and the weather in your city. What it gives you: «Today's look» every morning at the time you choose, an outfit from your own garments for that day's temperature and rain with the reason for each piece, avoiding what you wore in the last few days; a suggested outfit for any plan you add on a future date and place; real community looks that show how other people wear a similar garment; and a ranking of what's trending this season in your country. On you: yes, on your own photo, free. Buying: each garment can be searched in the stores of your country (39 markets). Price: free, no subscription.
What it doesn't do, so you're not surprised: it doesn't analyse your colours or your body type; there's no chat and no human stylist; it doesn't judge sizes or fit; «Today's look» needs enough clothes for at least four different outfits; and sign-up is open in 39 countries, with a waitlist for the rest.
The ones that didn't make the list
- Fits: a strong closet app with an AI stylist and try-on, but cited mainly in its own content; you'll find it in our digital closet comparison.
- OpenWardrobe: closet-first, with its colour and body «Style Blueprint» sold separately; also in our digital closet comparison.
- Dressika: a colour-analysis app, not a stylist.
- «Aimirr»: we couldn't find an app with that name on the App Store or Google Play.
- Pinterest and general AI chat assistants: useful for inspiration and questions, but they don't know your clothes; we compare them by category on our AI stylist page.
Which one should you choose
If you want to know your colours and body type first, Style DNA or Dressly — both by subscription — or Acloset, which adds a chat and a free tier up to 100 items. If you want a free stylist that works from your closet and understands prompts and trips, Alta, in English. For weather-aware suggestions from a free closet, Whering or Cladwell. If you'd rather a person did it, Indyx works from the clothes you own, and Stitch Fix sends you new ones if you live in the United States. And if what you want is to get dressed every morning with what you already own — without cataloguing garments one by one —, see it on your own photo and know where to buy what's missing in your country, that's what Chulair was built for.

FAQ
Which AI stylist app analyses my colours and body type?
Style DNA (12 colour types, body and style type from a selfie), Acloset (personal colour and fit), Dressly (colour type and body shape from a selfie) and OpenWardrobe's paid «Style Blueprint». Chulair doesn't: it styles you from your own clothes, the season and your city's weather.
Is there a free AI stylist app?
As of 18 September 2026: Alta and Chulair are free with no subscription; Acloset is free up to 100 items; Whering's core and Cladwell's closet are free with paid extras; Indyx is free with a paid tier and paid human styling; Style DNA and Dressly work by subscription; Stitch Fix charges a $20 styling fee per box, credited toward what you keep.
Which ones tell me what to wear each day based on the weather?
Alta, Acloset, Whering, Cladwell and Chulair. Style DNA gives five ideas a day but doesn't publish that it checks the weather; Dressly, Indyx and Stitch Fix don't publish it either.
Is an AI stylist as good as a human one?
They do different jobs. A human stylist — Indyx's, or Stitch Fix's, which ships you the clothes (US only) — reads context an app doesn't see. An AI stylist is there every morning, for free or for a few dollars. For a big occasion, a person; for the everyday doubt in front of the closet, an app.
Who wrote this comparison?
Chulair, which is one of the nine. That's why every fact about the others comes from their own websites and store listings — listed at the end —, the date is stated, and anything an app doesn't publish is marked «not published». If something is out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.
