What Chulair's AI actually does as a stylist
A stylist does four things: looks at what you have, knows what goes with what, shows it to you on, and learns your taste. Chulair's AI does all four, each in its own way:
- Looks at what you have: from every photo you upload it splits the garments and catalogues them by type and colour — and each look by occasion and season — in your language. That catalogue is the base for everything else.
- Knows what goes with what from real examples, not written rules: for any garment of yours it shows you community looks that include a similar one — “how to style a white shirt”, “jeans”, “a blazer” — and you can search by type and colour (“green midi skirt”) to see how other people wear it.
- Shows it to you on: you pick two or three garments — yours or from a look you liked — and see them combined on your photo, with your pose, before deciding.
- Learns your taste: the types and colours of the looks you like weigh in the order of the feed, so the ideas look more and more like what you'd actually wear.
How to combine your clothes with Chulair, step by step
- Upload photos of your clothes — a photo of a whole outfit works, the AI splits it into garments — or of single garments.
- Search the feed for the type and colour of the garment you want to combine (“white shirt”, “wide jeans”): you'll see real looks that wear it. And from any garment, the Search button shows you where to buy something similar in stores in your country.
- Pick the combination in the try-on tray — one garment of each kind, with or without garments from others — and try it on your photo.
- Save the ones that work as a look, publish them to your showroom if you want opinions, and repeat: every try is free.
Three matching rules you can check on your photo
You don't need colour theory to dress well, but three rules solve most doubts, and with the try-on you stop relying on gut feeling:
- A neutral base and one accent: two garments in black, white, beige, grey or denim and a third with colour or print. If the look feels dull, change the accent; if it feels loud, remove one.
- One star only: if the skirt has a big print, the rest stays quiet. Two stars compete.
- Proportions: loose on top with fitted below, or the other way round. Loose with loose asks for a belt or something that marks the waist.
Try the same garment with two different partners and compare both results: it's the fastest way to know which rule you were breaking.
What it doesn't do
- It doesn't decide for you: no automatic “wear this” every morning. It gives you real examples, dresses you and learns your taste; choosing is still yours.
- It doesn't judge sizes or fit: the result is an image of the combination, not a size recommendation.
- Without signing up you can browse the feed and find garments in stores; cataloguing your clothes and trying on need a free account and a photo of yourself.
- It's free, no subscription: Chulair lives on the commission some stores pay when you buy through their links.
